The sound of El Leopardo is profound and subtle at the same time, in this new album it continues to interweave different worlds. Conducted by the legendary DJ/producer Daniel Broderick aka Dani Boom, known for his revolutionary work with the Systema Solar collective blending traditional elements with techno, hip-hop and break-beat.

El Leopardo released their first self-titled EP on 12" via Glitterbeat Records on 2017, morphing urban dub textures with deep hypnotic rolling bass and Colombian percussion, and debuted as a live act at the RBMA stage at Sonar Bogotá, from there, tehy has performed in various festivals including Roskilde, Transmusicales and Fusion. The current live show consists of Dani Boom on cassette deck, sampler, synths and Mateo Rivano with visual tribal imagery and psychedelia.

'Leopard Point', the new single, takes us from the mountains of the Andes to the heavy electronic beats of Africa with a distinctive Cumbia accent. The samples of vocals taken from the radio waves with textures that opens doors for new dimensions, are mysterious and familiar, they are ancestral, resembling other remote cultures also connected to the same essence of dance and mantra.

The time of the internet and the jungle is the time of this sound. From the beginnings of electronica, when it expanded via limited pressings in hands of enthusiasts of powerful sound and good vibes, and then until the proliferation of the various sounds of the world and the overload in communication in the exchange of the intention, connection, festivals, ancestral knowledge, postmodern art, politics, electronic music and psycho acoustic works, El Leopardo is the sound of a raver traveling through the undiscovered jungle.

In April 22 we will be presenting "Solsticio" an LP that took almost two years in the making, bringing together the deep electronic cumbia beats, samples of poems and atmospheres from diverse sources and a diffused echo of African drums. It rages from the chaos of the city to the peacefulness of a river. ‘Solsticio’ is a homage to the natural geometry, the importance of the syllable, the pulse.

El Leopardo is the sound of a raver traveling through the deep of the jungle, far from the chaos of the city but deep in the chaos of the river.

El Leopardo es una emocionante colaboración comandada por el legendario productor/DJ colombiano Daniel Broderick, mejor conocido como Dani Boom, célebre por su revolucionario trabajo de producción fusionando sonidos colombianos tradicionales con techno, hip-hop y break-beat para Systema Solar. En este proyecto regresa con una nueva propuesta musical que combina texturas de dub, rolling y percusión colombiana condensadas en una vibrante mezcla de techno con la esencia de los rituales y mantras de la jungla colombiana. Gracias a su EP debut lanzado en 12 pulgadas a través del sello Glitterbeat, sumado el apoyo de Gilles Peterson en BBC Radio 6 y una aparición en TransMusicales como parte de su tour decembrino en Francia y Dinamarca, el Leopardo logró una nueva relevancia dentro de la escena musical internacional.
El Leopardo realizó su debut como live act en el escenario RBMA de Sónar Bogotá y colaboró en el estudio con Dengue Dengue Dengue (Perú) como parte del proyecto Exploring City Sounds de Red Bull Music Academy. Poco después, El Leopardo fue invitado por Bomba Estéreo (la banda electro-tropical más grande de Colombia) a la versión 2017 de su festival caribeño Estéreo Beach a la que asistieron unas 4000 personas.
Luego de agotar boletería en el circuito local, El Leopardo afirmó su reputación como uno de los actos emergentes más interesantes de Colombia, lo que abrió nuevas puertas para girar por algunos de los escenarios más selectos a nivel mundial, entre los que se destacan Roskilde 2018 (Dinamarca) y Fusion 2018 (Alemania).

'Leopard Point', su nuevo sencillo, nos lleva por las montañas de los Andes a los profundos beats de Africa con un acento marcado por la Cumbia. Los samples de voces tomados de la radio, con texturas que abren puertas a otras dimensiones, son misteriosas y familiares, son ancestrales, nos recuerdan otras culturas remotas también conectadas a la misma escénica del mantra y el baile.

En Abril 22, dia de la tierra estaremos presentando ‘Solsticio’ un albur que trae beats electrónicos de cumbia, samples de poemas y atmósferas de distintas latitudes y un eco difuso de tambores africanos. Oscila entre el caos de la ciudad y la tranquilidad del rio. ‘Solsticio’ es un homenaje a la geometría sagrada, la importancia de la sílaba y la cadencia.

El Leopardo es el sonido de un raver viajando por lo profundo de la selva, lejos del chaos de la ciudad pero adentro del chaos del rio.

Con apenas su EP debut lanzado hasta el momento y más música en camino, hay una enorme expectativa de este album que tomo casi dos años en su finalización, esperamos lo disfruten.
